Staying over on a Saturday Night. - Business travellers who catch international flights are inclined to want to return back to their homes no later than Friday evening, and most are perfectly happy to pay a larger ticket price for that option. Companies operating airline carriers tend to like that fact. People travelling on a more leisurely international basis on the other hand are not prepared to part with their cash so easily. Instead, when they are offered what they see to be ludicrously high international airline prices they simply travel less. The same companies distributing these tickets are not too fond of that fact.
This reality has lead the airline companies to initiate different options for different travellers. They levy different prices on different tickets to the same location. It is widely understood as the 'stay over Saturday night idea. They imagine that if you are not inconvenienced to stay over Saturday night , you must be a leisure traveller with less dough to spend, so they do not charge you as much.
Overlooking the apparent inequalities and realising instead on how much you can save by changing your international travel period, this option presents itself as an easy way to save money on your airfares.
Travel at Odd-Hours - Late night departures (those leaving around or after 10pm) are often priced much lower than the same international tickets on the same route. If you can catch a little sleep during these late night departures you will be able to begin your arrival activities a day before, and you'll have saved the price of one nights accommodation aswell.
Save by Flying Mid-Week. - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are known as the cheapest days to fly, whilst Fridays and Sundays are generally more expensive when looking for cheap fares. |
